Store lyophilised research peptides sealed, dry, away from heat and protected from light, and follow the vial label and batch documentation for your material. This page covers sealed, lyophilised vials only. It does not cover reconstitution, solution preparation or any use outside a laboratory.

When your order arrives

Transit packaging protects vials in the post, but it is not meant for long-term storage.

1. Check each vial’s seal and label against your order.
2. Note the batch number and the date received. You can look the batch up in our batch report lookup.
3. Move the vials promptly to storage that matches the label and batch documentation.
4. If anything is damaged, missing or incorrect, keep the packaging and contents and contact us with your order number and photographs.

Handling in the laboratory

• Handle materials only in a suitable research or laboratory setting.
• Avoid unnecessary exposure to air, moisture or contamination.
• Keep each vial with its label and batch record.
• Store materials securely, out of reach of unauthorised people, children and animals.

Why storage records matter

Many lyophilised peptides are hygroscopic: they take up moisture from the air, which is one reason vials are kept sealed and dry. Heat, light, moisture and time can all change a material, and some changes, such as oxidation or deamidation, only show up in later analysis. A record of the batch number, date received and storage conditions lets you trace a result back to the material that produced it.
